CHRIST OUR SAVIOR CATHOLIC SCHOOL – West Campus
Weekly Parent/Guardian/Student Newsletter
12.6.07
Dear Parents/Guardians/Students:
Please see the “School Families’ Special Letter” that also went home today for very important information regarding Christ Our Savior Catholic School.
Tuition envelopes went home last week. Tuition is due by December 15.
The Christmas Concert will take place this Tuesday, December 11 at 7:00 P.M. in the gym for grades K, 1, 3, 5, and 7 along with the Band Concert. We hope that all families can come and enjoy this enchanting evening of Christmas music.
Please know that all parents/adults are to check in at the office before going to a classroom. This is a safety issue. Students are not allowed to return to their classrooms once they are dismissed. This is a safety issue as well. Thank you.
Please label all clothing items (sweaters, sweatshirts) along with lunch bags and any other item that can be left behind. We have a growing collection in the Lost and Found. These are expensive items and we want your children to have them.
Students in grades 3-8 will have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation next Friday, December 14 at 1:00 P.M. if they are Catholic.
Legislative Action Alert!
How does $32 a student to pay for health and safety measures in school sound? That is what is at stake! Please contact the Governor’s office. If the Governor signs the recently passed SB 783, which opens the School Safety Block Grant to nonpublic schools, each of our Catholic schools will receive roughly $32 a student annually to pay for health and safety measures—which could include background checks, fire safety equipment, etc.
Please call or use the link below to express your concern to the Governor. Identify yourself and the school you are from and ask him to “Sign Senate Bill 783 so that nonpublic schools can receive reimbursement for mandated health and safety measures. The health and safety of our children are as important as any!”
The Governor’s numbers are:
1-217-782-0244 in Springfield
1-312-814-2121 in Chicago

It is that special time of year when we have to talk about snow.
